Friese Platen

1

Delftware plate with intricate details, looks handmade, detailing on outside of painting, two marks on back and 4 letters stamped, crackle patter throughout background

Vraag

My grandmother left this plate for me and I was wondering if anyone knew where it was made or by who. My best guess is it is from Fryslan, but I’m not sure. Thanks so much!

It looks like this was made at Siegersdorfer Werke in the city of Siegersdorf, Germany. Although the factory started production in 1870, this is probably more 1900-20. It was a big factory producing decorative wares, employing around 2000 people in the year 1928.
