Thanks Mr. Aronson for your reply.  I assumed it was from Friesland since it came from my Frisian born grandmother.  Since the number is written European style I assume it is not from the US.  It has a distinctive factory mark and I don’t know where else to find experts on the subject.  It is early 20th century.
