De Lampetkan pottery, situated on the corner of Nieuwe Langendijk and Oosteinde, was also known as De Porceleyne Lampetkan.
De Lampetkan certainly existed in 1764 when the 23 factory marks of Delft’s potteries were registered. Archive documents refer to ‘the sign in the facade of the shop’ featuring a water pitcher.
The owner at the time, the widow Brouwer-van der Hagen, signed the document, but the factory mark is not based on her name or initials. She stated that the ‘goods that are manufactured by me, are already marked with letters signifying De Lampetkan’.
