Hi Paterick

Thanks for the information. Robert Fowler was the owner of a major pottery in Sydney established by his grandfather Enoch in 1837. It mainly made architectural and functional items like pipes, ginger beer bottles and later branched out into sanitary ware and a small amount of homewares.

The item is owned within the family and the story is that it was presented to Robert Fowler (1873-1928) on his trip to Europe to source machinery and new ideas. We think this was about 1922 but are not certain. We assume that H Lammers was the donor.

We also have a delft plate (White with blue design) commemorating the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam.
