In 1841 opgericht als Boch Keramis. Vanaf 1844 opereerde het bedrijf onder de naam Boch Frères Keramis. Vanaf 1869 werd in merken ook wel de plaatsaanduiding 'La Louvriere' gebruikt. Het merk Royal Boch Manufacture werd ingevoerd in 1989.
Boch Keramis Freres gebruikte tot c. 1920/30 ook de monogrammen 'KB' en 'BFK'.
Het bedrijf Villeroy & Boch werd al in 1836 opgericht, door o.a. de latere oprichter van Boch Keramis.
