Is new, has nothing to do with the authentic delft pottery from the period of circa 1650-1850, completely hand-painted, underglaze painting, the so-called new technique, made by the company 'Ons Ideal', see the initials 'I' within the 'O ', logo, started in 1945, Lange Groenendaal, Gouda, owner/director Pieter Hortensius (1922-1998), pottery painter possibly Van Gijzel (not sure), second half last century, regards, jvdh.

Thank you very much John for your assistance it is appreciated!

Verdict:

  • Not Delftware

Analysis:

  • More recent production technique After 1850, factories in and outside Holland developed more efficient and cheaper production techniques. This goes beyond the scope of this website. Read more
  • Mark of a non-Delft pottery/factory The typical Delftware also inspires producers outside of Delft, but genuine Delftware has only been produced in Delft. Read more
