The false AK factory mark is an imitation of the mark that was applied by Adrianus Kocx, owner of De Grieksche A pottery in Delft (applied between 1687 and 1701). Later, in a time of renewed interest in Dutch Delftware, many falsifications have entered the market.
Often, these marks are applied on existing ceramics. By comparing, for instance, the style and materials of the object to the applied mark, the discrepancy in dates can be noted.
