This vase is made by pottery Velsen sassenheim. The mark was used between 1942 and 2002.

It's called Delft Green.

The Potterie Kennemerland in Velsen-Noord was founded in December 1920 by Koen Mertens (31 years old) and Eelke Snel (21 years old). From 1922 the company was continued by Eelke Snel. The company has operated under a number of names: 1920-1921 Potterie Kennemerland (in Velsen) 1921-1929 Kennemer Pottery 1929-1932 N.V. Kennemer Pottery 1933-1936 E. Snel formerly N.V. Kennemer Potterij 1936-1942 Art pottery factory Velsen 1942-2002 Keramiekfabriek Velsen (in Sassenheim).

Thank you for sharing this information. I truly appreciate it. This vase was passed down to me from my grandmother. It was in her home since before I was born (late 1960’s). It is one of my favorite pieces.

  • Mark of a non-Delft pottery/factory The typical Delftware also inspires producers outside of Delft, but genuine Delftware has only been produced in Delft. Read more
