I haven't been able to identify the mark or come up with a value for this piece. Can anyone offer some background on this?

This was painted at Plateelfabriek Zenith in Gouda. founded in 1749 it was originally a pipe factory. In 1915, a new type of pipe was introduced and given the name Zenith.
the scene is the girl with the pearl (earring) after the famous painting by Vermeer. It was used bij several factories because it was (is) really wanted. Another example included.
pottery and souvenir objects are made and as from 1935 Delft blue is also made and the brand with the intertwined Z and G is registered for the whole of Europe. Your plate says "hand-painted" and not "hand-geschilderd", which suggests that this plate was made for abroad. From about 1958 onwards, more and more the factory switched to the so-called adhesive technique. Your picture of the girl with a pearl earring dates from between 1940 and 1960 and is handpainted. . In 1980 there was a fire that destroyed the archive and therefore little information exists about the painters. Not authentic Delft, but still a very beautiful work. The value of pieces is not discussed here, so I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you on this. On the number on your plate there are most probably others that can tell more about it.
Kind regards, Franky
Verdict:
Not Delftware
Analysis:
Not made in Delft
The term Delftware is only used for earthenware actually produced in Delft.

Mark of a non-Delft pottery/factory
The typical Delftware also inspires producers outside of Delft, but genuine Delftware has only been produced in Delft.
