Has a lid with an opening that I imagine is for a spoon and has a bluish tint

What is it? What’s the difference between regular delft and delft blue?

This is certainly made by  the Schoonhoven pottery. What the function of this was is also a mystery to me. The notch on the handle ?? I think it had a function, but which one is the question.

My guess would be a syrup jar / sugar bowl as one can put a spoon in it with the lid closed and straighten the lid in the handle when using it. . This is because it seems to me that the lid standing up could fit in.

Have you tried this yet?

Probably someone else knows more about this.

Dit is elk geval van de plateelbakkerij Schoonhoven. Wat de functie hiervan was is mij ook een raadsel. De inkeping aan het handvat ?? had volgens mij een functie doch welke is de vraag.

Mijn gissing zou zijn een strooppot / suikerpot daar men een lepel in kan zetten met het deksel dicht en bij gebruik het deksel in het handvat rechtzetten. Dit daar het mij lijkt dat het deksel staand er wel eens in zou kunnen passen. Heeft u dit al geprobeerd?

Waarschijnlijk weet iemand anders hier wel meer over.
