This vase was made at Velsen in Sassenheim. Somewhere between 1946 and 2002.

Dear Franky,

Thanks a lot for the information. As we heritated the Vase in 1999 and it was there for years before the vase must have been produced in the 70s or 80s I guess. So nothing of worth, but now I know it‘s made by Sassenheim. Do you have and idea what pw stands for?

Best regards!

PW stands for the painter of this vase. Piet Wassenaar.

Piet Wassenaar was a Dutch pottery painter who worked at Kunstaardewerkfabriek 'Velsen' in Sassenheim. His initials, 'PW', can be found on various Delft blue ceramic pieces from the 1950s and 1960s.

So i think your vase dates between 1950 and 1960.

Art pottery factory 'Velsen' started in 1920 in Velsen, North Holland, and later moved to Sassenheim, South Holland. The company was known for its underglaze paintings, a technique that was used after 1850.

Under a picture of another vase painted by Piet.
