Hello,
Your vase was made by De Delftse Pauw, this factory originates from De Paauw but has only recently stopped producing Delftware. The painter’s initials are TvE and I think B3 will be an article number. It looks quite new, no craquelle etc, so maybe late 20th or early 21st century? What I do know is that it is unfortunately not classed as traditional Delftware from the 17-19th century.
Kind regards,
Patrick
119/120). Groet, jvdh.
PatrickW's explanation needs some adjustment. 'Kunstaardewerkfabriek De Delftse Pauw BV' was founded in 1954 by pottery painter Theo van Tienen, from 'Potterie Oud Delft' in Nijmegen, has nothing to do with 'Plateelbakkerij De Paauw (1651-1774) Koornmarkt (west side), information on Wiki Delft (2013) by Museum Prinsenhof Delft, Archive Delft and Archeology Delft, among others, is far from the truth.
'B3' on this vase is a year mark: B stands for year 1992, 3 stands for third month, so the vase was made in March 1992 (thanks to Jan Pluis, Nederlandse Tegels, 1900-2000, p. 119/120). Regards, jvdh.
Many thanks for your detailed explanation Jan van den Heuvel, I didn’t know that, I will take that into account for any future questions.
All the best,
Patrick
