Strange royal delft vase

Vraag

Interesting vase, feels like typical Chinese porcelain rather than Delft (in style). what year is it? Is this vase valuable enough to keep it with chipped porcelain?

It's Delft, Porceleyne fles and made in 1965 handpainted . Painters initials i could not identify.

there are still many of these vases in circulation. they are called stem vases. Here is an identical vase from 1970.

Delft, de Porceleyne fles 1965 . schilder kon ik niet thuiswijzen.

er zijn nog heel wat van deze vaasjes in omloop. men noemt ze steel vaasjes. hier een identiek vaasje uit 1970.

Verdict:

  • Delftware

Analysis:

  • Delftware, but made after 1850 After 1850, the earthenware production technique changed at the only remaining pottery in Delft. This technique goes beyond the scope of this website. Read more
  • Mark of a Delft pottery/factory In the 19th century, a financial incentive arose to sell more new earthenware as antique Delftware, sometimes even bearing fake Delft factory marks. Read more

Indeed, Franky has made the right assessment. To highlight the material a little further: Delftware, even the later pieces, are not porcelain, but earthenware - either in the traditional technique or slip cast.
