Plate

3

Plate with edges, decorated with a rooster on the front.

Vraag

I bought the plate in an antique shop in Bergen, Norway. I've looked on the back and the mark looks like the APK one. But I see other things have been cancelled. Any info/idea would be really appreciated.
Many Thanks
Emanuela

Dear Emanuela,

I won’t be able to give you any details about the origin of your plate other than that it’s definitely not made by the Greek A factory in Delft in the late 18th century. Nor by any of the other companies that produced the authentic Delftware.

Maybe someone else might be able to give you a bit more information.

Kind regards,

Patrick

Dear Patrick,

many Thanks for your reply! Working myself with ceramics, having a pottery business in Vietri sul Mare (Italy), I doubted it was from Delft. The colors, the glaze, the drawing look like Italian but the mark on the back is misleading.

Best,

Emanuela

Beoordeling:

  • Niet-Delfts

Toelichting:

Is it perhaps possible to decipher the third line of the mark in the middle (the impressed(?) mark, not the thick black lines)? It could well be that that part of the mark leads you somewhere. But its indeed not produced in Delft/ The Netherlands.
