Pair of Royal portrait plaques

Each painted in shades of iron-red, blue, green and black and heightened in gilding with a half-length portrait, one depicting Princess Anne elaborately coifed and wearing a jeweled choker-necklace and earrings and an ermine-lined cloak over a lavish gown with a lace-edged embroidered bodice and ruffled sleeves, beneath her a banderole inscribed PRINSES:ANNA:; the other depicting Prince William IV wearing a voluminous periwig, a blue sash and the Order of the Garter on his embroidered and tasseled uniform, and holding a brown staff, the banderole beneath him inscribed PRINS:WILLEM:KAREL :HEINDRIK:FRISO:; the inscribed banderole on each plaque above a demilune panel variously and intricately patterned with floral and foliate devices and continuing as a scroll-edged border within the molded self-frame, its inner edge with a black-ground floral border and its outer edge marbleized in blue, the reverse glazed and pierced forsuspension.
