It is an arched flower vase, originally made at the end of the 17th century. In Boston MFA there is an example made by Adriaen Kocx from De Grieksche A, made between 1687-1701.
Your example was made in France in the 19th century and was made by the Samson factory.
There are collectors today that specifically collect items from the Samson factory.
( hoofdjes)
These were indeed made in various shapes and sizes. According to the report in the link below, this would represent the Arc de Triomphe and dates from the late 17th to early 18th century. In the link, you can listen to the report. Unfortunately, it is in French.
At the bottom is another example, Dutch but factory unknown and unfortunately damaged. (heads)
Kind regards Franky
