Help identifying a hand-painted Delft vase, possibly from 1939
Hello,
I recently received this hand-painted Delft blue and white vase as a gift and would be grateful for any help identifying it.
The vase has a handwritten “Delft” mark on the base, two handwritten initials above it, and what appears to be the date 1939. There are also several additional painted and impressed marks (visible in the photographs).
An antique dealer in Delft suggested that it might be a Royal Delft vase dating from 1939, but I would like to verify this independently and learn more about its origin.
I would greatly appreciate any information on:
* the maker or pottery;
* the meaning of the handwritten initials above “Delft”;
* the impressed and painted factory marks;
* whether the date should indeed be read as 1939;
* the name of this vase model or decoration, if known.
Thank you very much for your time and expertise.
