Hi, Dorothy,

Can you measure the thickness of the tile in centimeters? Based on similar tiles in the book De Nederlandse Tegel, I think your tile probably dates from 1870 - 1900.

11 cm is very unusual for traditional Dutch tin-glazed tiles (usually c. 13 cm, or c. 15 cm for export). Do you have a picture of the back of this tile?

The corner motif 'ox-head' is used since the 17th century, but the specific ox-head on your tile is known from the Van Hulst tile works  in Harlingen, c. 1910-1930.
