This is made by M. de Wit, Aardewerkfabriek from Gouda. (sold to Animo/Montagne in 2000).

Owner was Matthijs de Wit. Mark are two paintersbrushes crossed. This mark is still used by Montagne buy only with the letters MD

1961-2000. so, your vase is from this period.

De growth of Montagne Aardewerk carried on, also due to a couple of takeovers from other factories from Gouda:    Gouda pottery Jumbo   in 1997, ‘ODC’ in 2000 and ‘Keramische Industrie de Wit’ in 2000. The takeover of de Wit brought Montagne Aardewerkfabriek an important boost because the high quality Delft pottery of de Wit was (and still is) entirely hand-painted and therefore worldwide known.

Thank you! I am so happy. I bought this vase at my neighbor's estate sale in Michigan (USA) for $12.50 USD. I asked my neighbor the history of the vase and she said that she received it from her aunt who had received it from a friend in the Netherlands. Considering that my neighbor is almost 90 years old, I think that the vase is older and closer to 1961. Question: Do you know what the # "946" represents on the bottom of the vase? Thank you!
