Vraag

The vase was received as a wedding present 58 years ago. The color on the white pottery is not what we normally associate with Delft. We would like to confirm the vase is Delft and the approximate age and where it was made.

This is a Sandelfo vase from the Porceleyne Fles, designed by Herman Sander but not painted by him. The painter is J.H. ten Hacken. The year code is difficult to read. CI? (1964), CL? (1967) but CC would be the most logical (1958). Perhaps someone can decipher this and provide clarification. All in all, a very beautiful vase.

Franky,

Thank you so much for the information on the vase. It is a cherished wedding present from 1968 and we always have it displayed. We have made many trips to the Netherlands but sadly have not been to De Porceleyne Fles.

Sincerely,

John Flournoy

  • Handbeschilderd Een belangrijk kenmerk van authentiek Delfts aardewerk is dat het handgeschilderd is. Druktechnieken komen op dit aardewerk niet voor. Lees meer
