A 'Fructus Myrtilli' pharmacy jar with a wheel, angel, cross, and foliage motif. Letter R at the bottom.
Vraag
What is the estimated year of its manufacture? Are the designs hand-painted? Do we know the meaning of the R on the front and the initials S.J.G. below?

This apothecary jar can be dated around 1935-1940. It appears - of course with different inscriptions - in the 1935 catalog under number 748. It also exists in a larger size, namely 39 cm under number 746. Hand-painted, but the painter is difficult to identify since there are no lists like, for example, at the porceleyne fles .
S.J.G. could also be an abbreviation for a customer, which was quite common.
Kind regards Franky
