This is made by a plate factory in Gouda, located at Kuiperstraat 50-52 (head office in Tilburg),Active from around 1953 to 1957,Owned by JACM Melkert-van Helfteren. The year 1838 is not a founding year but seems to have a more symbolic or decorative meaning, possibly referring to a family date or important moment. The factory used a printed logo (not a hand-painted mark), used transfer technique and because the production period was short, objects from this factory are now rare.
Kind regards Franky
