I found this plate featuring a landscape at a thrift store and purchased it knowing nothing about Delft pottery. The painting depicts a bridge leading over a river to some homes and a windmill. The edge of the plate is adorned with a floral pattern.

Vraag

With some research, I was able to find out that the plate appears to be made by Royal Delft and has year code “L” (1890). However, I have been unable to find the artist from the signature - can anyone help identify them?

Too bad the picture with the brand is not a bit clearer. But indeed The Porcelyne Bottle (Bottle JT) from 1890. Despite the unclear photo, I would think that it was painted by J.B. van der Horst who painted there from 1883 to 1918.

If you can post a sharp photo, we can rule this out.

Jammer dat de foto met het merk niet wat duidelijker is. Doch inderdaad De Porcelyne Fles (Flesje JT) uit 1890. Ondanks de onduidelijke foto zou ik toch denken dat deze is geschilderd door J.B. van der Horst die er schilderde van 1883 tot1918.

Mocht u een scherpe foto kunnen plaatsen kunnen we een en ander uitsluiten.
