Typical Delft blue design, the stamp on the back says "Flora Keramiek, 22, Delfts Holland Handwerk"
Vraag
My mother received this plate as a gift from my father. We are interested to find out any historical information on the plate. Year of manufacture? is the "22" the design number? is there any significance to the stamp-icon (looks like a vase with a minora-type candlestick)
Afmetingen
23 cm diameter

Deze is inderdaad van de plateelfabriek Flora uit Gouda.
Plateelbakkerij Flora was originally a pottery factory in Gouda, which existed from 1945 to 1994. Frans Eikenboom (1881-1966) had already started producing earthenware in Gouda in 1927. In 1945 he founded the Flora factory with his son Peter Antonius Eikenboom (1907-1981). It was located in Stolwijkersluis on the Gouderaksedijk.
In 1974, Flora came into the hands of International Citrus Products, which reorganized the factory economically and logistically. In the 1970s, the company came up with more traditional decors that were no longer painted by hand but were applied to the pottery via underglaze transfers.
Your dish is an example of this. handwerk means that the adhesive plate was applied by hand and is therefore not painted. Nr 22 is most probably the nr of decor within the theme.
kind regards Franky
